Centro Coron prepared everything for us. From accomodation to tours and meals. Since it was our last day in Coron, we all decided to try other restaurant near the place. The ever reliable Kuya (I forgot the name) from Centro Coron referred Everly Garden so we took a tricycle and was brought to the said restaurant.
Since months have passed already, it wouldn't be fair if I'll be giving reviews on something I don't exactly remember. :| I just know that I enjoyed all the food trips I had in Coron.
So here's what we had:
Seafood Festival (Php 250)
Chicken Buffalo Wings (Php 180)
Pork Sisig (Php 150)
And this officially ends my Coron adventure. :)
Everly Gardens Bar and Restaurant
Coron, Palawan

I've been eyeing this restaurant for quite some time. I was able to try thai food once when I was in Singapore and I could say that it was good - spicy and aromatic. Anyways, we're supposed to try Rai Rai Ken but we found out that Rob Manila branch has closed already. Boyps and I thought that it was a perfect timing to finally try this restaurant.
Sukothai (Php 278) – noodle soup topped with
thin slices of meat, 2 pieces of meat balls, fried tofu, bean sprouts and lots
of ground meat. It was flavorful (as in) because of the cilantro (not sure :|). The
waitress told us that it was a bit spicy but Boyps and I find it very sweet.
But it was a good starter.
Bagoong Rice (Php 188) – perfectly salty fried rice with plenty of sides. It has small chunks of tocino, a slice of salted egg and lemon, thin slices of green mango, red and green chili and onion. This is a must –try dish. I guess this serving is more or less 2 cups of rice.
Fish Red Curry (Php 288) – fish fillet in
curry sauce. This one has beaten me up. I love spicy and curry foods but I gave up
after consuming my first fillet. The curry flavor is just so powerful. It
wasn’t spicy but the aroma has won over me. It was indeed good. The
problem is on me because Boyps was able to eat everything.
Yung mga dahon ung nagpapalakas ng lasa. :|
Soi also serves appetizer - wonton chips and spicy peanuts. I so loved it. I even asked for a another set and the waiter gladly refilled the plate. It was a fun food trip experience.

It feels good to work in a place where mall is just
walking distance. I told Boyps, that every Friday, if our time and budget permit;
we should try new restaurants in MOA. So last Jun 1, we had our dinner at Ya
Kun Kaya Toast. I’ve wanted to try this ever since I read it in my
friend’s blog. We were just passing by the place and we saw that they serve a soup dish.
Sakto, Boyps wanted to have noodles for dinner.
Here’s what we ordered:
Kaya Toast with Butter (Php 115) – I was surprised when this was served. Two small sandwiches with 1 soft boiled egg. The sandwich was filled with coco jam and a block of butter. I didn’t like it on my first bite but fell
in love with it on the succeeding bites. I like the combination of the jam
and butter plus the soft boiled egg on top. Haha. I added some salt and sauce
to the egg to make it more tasty.
Porkrib Noodle Soup (Php 158) – noodle soup with chunks of meat and veggies. Add some spicy sauce and it's good to go.
Ang
sarap ng may hagod ng konti sa lalamunan.
We were just the only customers that night so service was
really fast. Sino ba naman kasi mag dinner ng bread sa gabi. :p Food was a bit pricey, ambiance was just okay. I would still want to go back and try other sandwiches but maybe
for breakfast J

Boyps was so curious about this. Every time we passed by
Sakae Sushi, we always stop by to check the sushi and maki on their rotating table.
I’m not a fan of sushi but I love maki. We were both hesitant at first since we
really don’t have any idea if the variety is enough to have a super
sulit dining experience. One
Saturday, after our swimming exercise, we both agreed to try their buffet.
Sayang ang exercise :p
Their buffet is Php 399 and it includes miso soup and bottomless hot / cold green tea. The miso soup was extremely delicious. I maybe overreacting but it was really the best miso soup I have ever tasted. The flavor and aroma were perfect. How I wish the buffet also comes with unlimited soup refill. Hihi.
Anyways, here are some pictures of what we have picked from their sushi bar:
Corn - favorite #1
Tuna - favorite #2
The pink plates are the expensive one. Yummy indeed!
just okay
errrrrr.... :|
Our goal was just to eat more
than the worth of the buffet price and we succeeded. We gave up after eating 15
plates. I even had difficulty walking. I got so full. L The maki we have tried
were all delightful. But some of the maki have the same taste, they only differ
in filling. I enjoyed the experience but it’s not something that I would love to go
back to. :)

Months ago, I purchased a Red Mango voucher at
Deal Grocer. After clicking the buy button, I was thinking why I bought not just 1 but 2 vouchers considering that I'm not a fun of yogurt. I didn't like its taste but I have no choice but to avail my P600 worth of food and drinks at Red Mango
(baliw lang). Boyps and I decided to use the 1st voucher upon arrival at mall and the 2nd after dinner. So here's what we consumed all in all:
Medium Yuzu Lemon Swirl with Toppings (Php160) - it's the combination of Original and Yuzu Lemon yogurt. I chose mango and almond mochi toppings while Boyps had Mandarin Orange and cereals. I love the mochi. It was so delicious that it made my yogurt really enjoyable. I also tried the other mochi variant but I enjoyed the almond mochi more. It's a must try! (Medium Yogurt is Php125 + Php35 for 2 toppings)
with mango and mochi toppings
with mandarin orange and cereals toppings
Mango Yogurt and Kiwi Yogurt Smoothies (P99) - Unexpectedly, I enjoyed this. It's a fruit shake with a swirl of yogurt on top. The combination of sweet and sour taste was perfect. The flavors of the fruits were so evident. Well I guess that's the reason why I loved it.
We're supposed to try their waffles but unluckily, it's not available when we came back to avail the 2nd voucher. I just had the same order with different toppings. Hihi.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience!

My friends
Jerellt and Chod both said that they enjoyed eating at Hainanese Delights. A new branch has just opened near my place and there's no reason why I shouldn't try it. After watching Men in Black 3 (another super late post), we both decided to have dinner at Hainanese Delights.
House specialty is White Chicken Rice which is actually Singapore’s trademark dish. I’ve already been to
Singapore and really didn’t enjoyed this much. Haha. I think I
was able to try this thrice; once every visit. Haha.
Di ko gusto yan a, pero
try pa din ng try.
Soy sauce + Garlic + Chili
Here’s what we ordered:
Fried Chic Hainan Rice (Php 99) – served with a scoop of rice and a
piece of chicken. The skin was so crispy and deliciously salty. The flavor was enriched when dipped in their dimsum sauce. I also added some chili to
spice it up. My meal comes with a glass of Iced tea.
Soup with Porkchop - the soup
was just okay. For me it tasted like
Chowking’s Wanton Noodles. There is really nothing special in it but
really not bad at all. It was the porkchop that we didn’t like much. It was bland and the breading was not crunchy. The taste would
actually improve when dip with the tofu sauce or mixed with soup.
Tofu (Php 80) – this is the best. Haha. The tofu was cooked perfectly –
it was crunchy outside but super soft inside. It tasted even better with their
tofu sauce. Yummy!
Their serving was quite generous. The foods were also served
neat and fast. The crews were also attentive to our requests.

When I was still working in Makati, I used to accompany Boyps in buying breakfast. Most of the time, we just go straight to Philam's food court and choose from a variety of stores in place. One time, we both decided to buy big siopao at Luchincy's. One for each. When I was about to eat it in my workstation, a friend told me that if I want big siopao, I should visit Masuki in Binondo. So this was the reason why we had another Binondo food trip. :) Quest for big siopaos. :p
I love restaurants / fast foods with just few menu options. It wouldn't be difficult for customers to choose what to eat. Masuki serves noodles and dimsum. We have asked the server what's their best seller and he recommended Beef Wonton Chicken Asado Mami (Php 190). With just its name, it looks like everything is in it. It has beef chunks, chicken strips, pork slices and wonton. The soup was hot and delicious. I put some sweet sauce in it to add sweetness to its salty taste. It was also served with spring onions. Our bowl is quite big and loaded with noodles and meat. I was just so happy when it was also served with another bowl of soup. Haha. It's like having two bowls but paying for 1. :)
And since we came there for their big siopao, we ordered 1 Special Asado siopao (Php 80). The filling is a mixture of pork asado flakes, sliced chicken and salted egg. It wasn't as special and yummy as I expected but it was still good. Luchinsy's siopao was still bigger than Masuki's.
We enjoyed our experience in Masuki. If you want some noodles to warm your tummy, go visit Masuki. Just be careful when it rains because some of the rain water flows inside their store.

As usual, it's been months since this food trip happened. We've been hearing craze about different night markets / food markets that have sprouted here and everywhere. Boyps and I prefer to have dates when the sun is up so we can both go home early before late night. We were just so happy to know that there is a market that is open in the morning.
We arrived at Salcedo Market past 12 in the afternoon. Some of the shops were already cleaning up and closing their shops but there were still some who were lively and busy serving customers.
Salcedo Market offers almost everything. There are shops that sells fresh fruits, vegetables and seafoods, fresh flowers, dried goods, processed foods, native delicacies, and other products like pots, bags, wallets and a lot more. Of course, there are also a lot of food choices to make your gastronomic adventure a success.
Potdog - Boyps favorite :p It's close to be like waffle because it also has a jumbo hotdog inside. It's just that the coating is different from the usual waffle (pancake) mix.
Cantonese Dimsum (CHR Siomai) - we bought pork siomai in this cart. Nothing special but it was still a good try.
Hachibi Takoyaki (Php 50) - This looks appetizing but we both didn't like this. The octopus is just so small that you won't even notice that it has one.
Taqueria Mia - the burrito is plain and quite bland. It was jam-packed though but it really lacks flavor.
Canalonese Spinach by La Cuisine Francaise (Php 330) - We both got excited when we saw this store as they were selling a variety of pasta dishes. Out of curiosity and excitement, we bought one without asking for the price and we just got shocked when we paid 330 for a slice of lasagna :p. It was sulit though, big and tasty.
We also had empanada but I forgot to take a picture of it. We enjoyed our first ever food market adventure. There are really a lot of stalls to choose from. It has a variety of everything. It was such a good experience and I just hope that I'll also experience to become one of the sellers in any food markets in town. :)
Open every Saturday from 7 a.m to 2 p.m.

I've been busy lately with work and have been going home late (this is an uber late post - I'm currently unemployed :p). It's past 8 in evening and Boyps and I are already hungry. We don't want to go farther just to have a quick dinner so Boyps told me to just try the new burger store in Robinsons Summit Center -
Bodato.
Bodato serves a variety of hamburgers. We ordered Chicken Burger and Spicy Beef Burger. Looking while our order is prepared, parang casualan lang tapos ang mahal mahal. But when I got to taste it, I liked it. The patty is not dry but not too oily. It also has dressing, lettuce and tomatoes. There's really nothing special about it but it was still a good try. It's a bit pricey with how it looks on the pictures, but at least, it passed our taste.

It was a bit late in the evening when we decided to have dinner in Glorietta. We settled at the Food Court (food choices) of the mall to make the selection of restaurant / fast food easier. But Boyps is always having difficulty choosing where to eat when we are at a food court. He has a tendency to roam around twice (or more) before he can decide where and what to try. That night, I immediately chose Kalbi while he's still thinking. But guess where he ended up? Same with mine. Bwaha..
Kalbi ka din pala e:p
So here's what we ordered:
Boyps tried their
Chicken - KB (Php 149) - it is a meal with chicken chunks, whole kernel corn, bean sprouts, kimchi and sunny side-up egg on top of a plain rice. It was yummy and saucy. The serving is big, really big!
Sulit kung sulit!
I settled for
Chicken Burrito (Php 159) - A super huge tortilla with rice, chicken, onions and other veggies inside. It has a mild spicy taste but not as yummy as
Mexican Express'. It's quite difficult to eat because it was very
siksik (loaded). Another sulit (getting more that what you payed for) dish. I had to take home the other half because I got so full with the 1st one. It also comes with a free side dish and I chose Nachos with cheese.

Korean Ice Creams
Boyps has been wanting to try the
Korean fish ice cream so when I saw it in 1 of the 7-11 stores in Makati, I bought him one. According to him, it was just an ordinary ice cream. Haha. He was a bit disappointed when he got to taste it.
We saw
Melona Ice cream in one of the shops in Binondo. Boyps said that there's something inside the popsicle so I kept on looking while eating. I'm almost done but seen nothing except for the stick. So if there's anyone who can tell me what Korean Ice cream has a filling (except for the fish) please leave a comment. :p I'll surely be back in that store to try other Korean products. Hihi
Sorry I forgot the name of the Korean store.
It's not our first time in Yoshinoya. If I remember it right, this is the restaurant where we had our first dinner date but in Megamall branch. Bwaha. Anyway, it was already past 2 in the afternoon when we finished our shopping. Our stomachs are really growling so we settled for the restaurant with much lesser customers.
Here's what we had for our late lunch:
Miso Soup - a good starter for our hungry tummy.
Super Beef Bowl - thinly sliced beef mixed with lots of onions. For me it was good but Boyps said it was just okay.
Regular Chicken Teriyaki - mine is way better that Boyps :p. The chicken is soft and the sauce is really flavorful. It was also served with carrots, cauliflower and broccoli.
Kani Siomai - It's a siomai with crab stick on top. I'm not a fan of crab stick so I didn't enjoy this much.
